Valtra and its Scandinavian distributor Lantmännen had a strong presence at Sweden’s Elmia 2011 in May.
With over 30,000 visitors over the course of three days Elmia is the most important forestry exhibition in the Nordics. Valtra’s stand offered a true forest experience to the visitors. There were a total of 26 tractors on display for viewing, test driving and demonstrations.
The new A93 HiTech with electro-hydraulic shuttle attracted a lot of attention. New features in other Valtra tractors like the narrow seat, rear window collar and xply tyres were also well received among customers.
In the demonstration area other popular Valtra models were on display with specialized equipment.
The N Series tractors proofed their versatility in forwarding applications, a T202 was chipping with a Bruks 605 mobile chipper and a S353 was pulling a chip wagon. Furthermore a N142 Direct with SVC cab and the new steel fuel tank was mounted with a thinning harvester with a Nisula 400 head.
Individually customized Valtra tractors offer a lot of possibilities also in the future. They are ideal in the small timber harvesting and bioenergy segments as well as in traditional forwarding applications. Today a lot of small forestry equipment is available for usage with tractors. This increases the interest in tractor-based forestry among agri-forestry users and contractors.
